Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 24, 2026
Downtime is designed with your privacy as a top priority. This policy explains how your data is handled when you use our app.
Data Storage
All your blocking rules, schedules, and app selections are stored locally on your device. Your data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any external servers.
Data Collection
Downtime does not collect, track, or access any personal information. We have no servers, no accounts, and no way to see your data. The app's App Store privacy label reflects this: "Data Not Collected."
Screen Time & FamilyControls
Downtime uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) to apply app blocking schedules. All Screen Time data is processed entirely on your device by iOS. Downtime cannot see which specific apps you use or for how long — it only knows the opaque tokens you select for blocking.
Analytics & Tracking
Downtime does not include any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any other tracking technology.
Data Control
You have full control over your data. You can export your configuration as a JSON file for backup and delete all data by removing the app from your device.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
